Located at the Tom Mays Access Area, this state park festival focuses on the 'creepy' critters that inhabit the Chihuahuan Desert, like spiders, bats, and snakes. The event includes educational booths, spider races, 'boowling,' and a carved pumpkin contest where visitors bring their own displays to be judged. For the adventurous, a guided 'haunted hike' takes place early in the morning to explore the natural beauty and legends of the Franklin Mountains.
